Warm Oil Knee Therapy
Jaanu Basti
What It Is
A dam made of soft dough is built around the knee joint, and warm medicated oil is poured inside and kept at a steady temperature for a sustained, localized treatment.
Who It's For
Commonly sought for osteoarthritis-related knee discomfort and general knee stiffness — a frequent concern for our older patients. Clients often come with swelling, warmth, weakness or instability in the knee, difficulty fully straightening the joint, popping or crunching sensations, or discomfort following a physical injury.
What to Expect During Your Session
- You'll sit or lie with the knee exposed while the dough well is built around the joint.
- Warm oil is poured in and topped up to stay warm for about 40 minutes.
- Showers aren't available on-site — plan to keep the oil on for a few hours and shower once home.
Preparation & Aftercare
Avoid strenuous knee activity immediately after. Keep the area warm for the rest of the day.
Contraindications
Discuss with your physician if you have a knee implant, recent knee surgery, or an active skin condition around the joint.
Duration & Pricing
$200 per session (40 min) · $1,200 for an 8-day program.
